The the cast is fantastic and looks like they’re having the time of their lives playing actors who think they’re shooting a Vietnam movie but accidentally become involved in real combat when their exasperated director dumps them in the jungle. Warner Brothers has inked a deal to turn the six-volume graphic novel into a pair of live action movies. Leonardo DiCaprio has signed on to produce the films, and anime aficionados will be happy to hear that Akira’s creator, artist Katsuhiro Otomo, will be working with the production in the capacity of executive producer. The first movie is expected to hit theaters in the summer of 2009.

Apparently there is a new rumor that Pacino would play the head honcho of the new, evil terrorist organization in the upcoming Bond film Quantum of Solace.
This is certainly a crazy rumor which may turn out to be 100% completely face. It almost seems out of character to me, for the Bond films, which have often shied away from such huge names, unless that star is Bond. The cast members were asked by the show's producers if they would be willing to star in the motion picture. AD's leading man, Jason Bateman, confirmed that preliminary talks had begun. Elsewhere, Jeffrey Tambor admitted on the Ron and Fez Show on XM Radio that he was approached by Ron Howard to see if he was willing to reprise his role(s).
