Despite recent drama surrounding the planned big-screen adaptation of Halo, Microsoft is still determined to make the movie a reality. After Fox and Universal, the two studios that had been co-financing the flick, dropped out earlier this week, Microsoft has begun shopping it around.

Josh Olson, who was nominated for an Academy Award last year for his acclaimed graphic novel adaptation A History of Violence, has been officially signed to write the screenplay for the Peter Jackson-produced adaptation of Bungie's Halo. Although there has been no announcement yet, Josh broke the news during recent speeches in Philadelphia and Michigan, and has confirmed it personally. It's game over for Universal's and Fox's participation in the feature adaptation of Microsoft's "Halo."
Both of the studios that agreed to co-finance the screen adaptation of the popular Microsoft game have abruptly backed out of the picture.
