Johnny Depp is making a film about a former Russian spy whose poisoning death in London has touched off an international mystery, the trade magazine Variety reported.
Warner Bros. has bought the rights to a book about Alexander Litvinenko for Depp's production company, Infinitum Nihil, the magazine reported Friday. Depp will produce the film and could star in it, the report said.

Harry Potter might lose one of its stars. The fifth film in the series, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix," is currently filming at Leavesden Studios north of London. Spectacled boy wizard Harry Potter will return to US theatres in July 2007 and again in November 2008 with the newest installments of the hit movies which have earned more than $US3.5 billion ($A4.6 billion) worldwide, the Hollywood press reported today.
Australian release dates for the films have yet to be announced.
Warner Bros Studios will release the fifth Potter film in the US mid next year, with Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

As a follow up to last year's blockbuster Batman Begins, Christopher Nolan is set to direct Warner Bros. Pictures' The Dark Knight, written by Jonathan Nolan, based on a story by Christopher Nolan and David Goyer. The film will be produced by Emma Thomas, Charles Roven and Christopher Nolan.
